Hello! My name is Nevaeh , because I’m a little slice of heaven. I’m a pit bull / boxer mix and they think that I’m around four years old. Can you tell me what that is in dog years? Anyway, it means that I’m fully grown. I’ve got a gorgeous, glossy brindle coat, gleaming white stockings and the softest ears you’ve ever felt, but I’m not vain at all. I also smell like vanilla cookies, but really, I’m not vain. I really just AM this fabulous.
I prefer not to talk about my humble beginnings. They’re really not representative of a girl like me. I found myself on the street, and then in this awful, dingy place called a “dog shelter” and thank heavens the workers there saw that I just didn’t belong there and sprung me. That’s how I made my way down to Columbus and into my foster mom’s home, where I can enjoy the kind of life I was meant to live. She knows how to treat a dog: soft blankets, spa treatment and she even has learned to prepare my food just how I like it: a special mix of canned and dry with a touch of warm water, thankyouverymuch.
My favorite things to do are play ball, and my foster mom likes to take me to the tennis courts where I can stretch my long legs and show off my speed. True to my bully nature, I love to snuggle, and even when I’m not in a lap, I prefer to be close to my person. I follow her around the house, just to make sure she’s okay. These humans need us dogs to take care of them, you know? In my foster home, I’ve become an ace at scouting out the softest places for naps. I’m really quite a champion napper. Other things that I excel at are chewing bones, snuggling… no, wait, I already said that one… and kissing! I love to give gentle kisses, too.
Even though I love my person, I am fine being left alone during the day. I think of it as “me” time, when I don’t have to worry about taking care of my people. I just relax in my crate with a chewie or a stuffed kong.
Did I mention that I’m super smart? (But not vain. Not vain at all.) I’m already housetrained, and I come to my foster mom when she calls, and I know how to sit, shake, give hugs and I even go into my crate when she tells me to. I like to do these things because it helps her feel like she’s in charge, and that’s important for building her confidence.
Though I love my foster mom, she tells me that she’s only my temporary mom, and that there’s someone even better out there looking for me. My ideal home would be active and might have a fenced backyard so I can zoom around like I do at the tennis courts. In case you’re wondering, I’m good with cats and I love kids! They’re so much fun.
Foster mom tells me I’m also supposed to tell you that I’m heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped, whatever that means. My adoption fee is $175, which is a steal, if you ask me! If you are interested in meeting me or adopting me, please contact Peace for Paws Ohio at: adopt@peaceforpawsohio.org.
If your house just can’t make room for a gem like me right now, please think about sharing my post. My person is out there looking for me right now, and you may even know them. I need your help to make sure they find me soon!
